ABOUT

As human beings, we gravitate towards experiences that are immersive, entertaining and offer us a source of inspiration or escapism. We are visually and mentally stimulated by such spectacles. This report in our technology examines the shifting reality of spectacles driven by technological progress and changing societal norms following the global pandemic. From allowing us to better experience the spectacle of the world around us, to powering the spectacle itself, technology has altered our experience, to the point where today, experience is everything.

COVERING

From early panoramas projected onto walls, to virtual reality that we can manipulate in real-time in any environment. Spectacles have shifted from passive to immersive, collective to individual.

COVERING

The pandemic accelerated our need to make digital experiences as impressive and emotionally powerful as those experienced IRL. This transition moved us into a world of hybrid experiences with strong digital infrastructure.

COVERING

Looking to the future, spectacles are likely to play a role in more permanent environments, from drone robot delivery services to connected city environments.
